The Burlesque Hour & Daily Outfit
I’ve had a few requests for daily outfit posts! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go in that direction - of making Ivyology a more personal site - but I think it’ll be a refreshing change. Plus, I’d love to look back on my outfit posts and see what works and doesn’t work. And I’ve already learnt one thing that doesn’t work - taking photos in unnatural light! I think next time, I’ll find a better background and take these babies outside during the day. So please excuse the poor quality!

Holy moley, how many accessories did I wear?! And as you can see, I’m a big Ebay and thrift store addict..
I actually wore this on Saturday. We went to a Chinese restaurant for dumplings, then went to this funky outdoor bar which had crates for the guests to sit on, fairy lights and graffiti on the walls. It looked like someone opened up their garage for the public, but that’s what made it so cool. Then we went to see The Burlesque Hour! It would have to be the best show I have ever seen. It had us talking about it all the way home. Hell, I’m still talking about it! Normally when you think of burlesque shows, you think girls shaking their thing, with giant feather fascinators and it’s all very pretty, girly and innocent. This, though, was completely different. There was full nudity, women squirting ‘breast’ milk all over the audience, a lady swinging from the ceiling, crazy industrial tribal music, strawberries being plucked out of vaginas then being eaten! Oh man, it was grand. I planned on taking some snap shots to show you, but there was strictly no photography allowed - damn.
So how was your weekend? Have any stories? Do share, I like stories

Oh my GOODNESS, haha, that sounds AMAZING! What a night! Oh, and I’m so happy that you’re doing ‘Daily Outfit’ photos - I suspected that you had incredible style, and this photo just confirms it - how awesome do you look?! I am particularly in love with your shoes! My weekend was enormously wholesome - packing, followed by unpacking, followed by more unpacking :p (And trying to work out the difference between ‘undergraduate’ and ‘postgraduate’ study - eep! Thanks for clearing that up!

Hehe, I went to a burlesque night last night as well! Not as spectacular sounding as yours, but still I had an excellent time (it was my birthday!) and picked up some burlesquey goodies from the merchandise stall!
And I am still loving your hair colour, it looks awesome on you!

I’m excited about you moving in to your new home! Cause that means decorating!
.
K - Omg, lol. Just read your review, and I couldn’t have written one better myself. What a coincidence, eh? Azaria Universe was hot!! I especially loved her on that swing, where she was like a rag doll. Freaky stuff.
And thanks for the compliment!! Hehe!
.
Tara - OMG, ♥ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TARA!!!!!! ♥ Going to a burlesque show is such a good idea for a birthday. What did you buy at the show?!!
.
Annie Spandex - Really..? I do love a colourful background, too.. Now you have me wondering if I should leave it!
And those shoes ARE totally kitsch! Love ‘em

I went to see these girls and their Burlesque Hour when I was 9 months pregnant. Imagine the response from the rest of the audience to that one! I had a good chat to the girls after the show and they thought it was a very stylish choice to see the show flaunting my belly and dressed to the nines, in the company of my brother no less. I even bought a pair of the souvenir underpants to fit into after the baby. So now I wear “The Burlesque Hour” printed in gold across my fanny. What a hoot!
