The Convertible Dress

I stumbled across this amazing dress by Tamsy Hamley, which is designed to take the ladies from ‘work to flirt’. A dress which begins off with three quarter sleeves, a square neckline and falls just over the knees, then converts into a sweetheart neckline, above the knee dress with red satin accents. It can take you from work in the office by day (not sure about the cheesy onlookers in the picture above…) to an after work date without having to take a change of clothes to work.
The dress isn’t in stores yet, but apparently “several high street chains” plan on stocking the dress. I think it’s quite ingenious, versatile and creative. Anything that has added bonus functions gets a big fat tick in my book. What do you guys think? Yay or nay?
Big love,

It’s a great idea, but I don’t necessarily like the design. :/

Ahh! I love this dress! The two in one idea kind of reminds me of these skirts made from recycled saris

I just love the faces of the people behind the model in the advertisement for it
It is a good idea, I’m not sure I like the design of the dress all that much though…

yeah I’m with annie, I really like the idea but I actually find the design kinda tacky… and i hate those buttons! its kinda like some guys fantasy..y’know buttoned-up office worker by day, then a friday night cocktail and shes a let loose tart! lol maybe a bit harsh but you get my drift..

I don’t mind it actually. I designed a whole collection of convertible wardrobe a couple of years ago. But I never did follow up and release it. It all just became a bit too much like very hard work.

Annie Spandex - Ahh okay, maybe they should delve into some other designs to fit all different styles. I hope they do, cause that’d be awesome.
.
Natalie - OMG, I’ve seen those before!! I want one. There’s some cheap ones in ebay, actually. I think those saris kick arse over the convertible dress - there are WAY more ways to wear it!
.
Tara - Haha, I know, how corny are they? The girls are looking at her head and dress while the guy is looking at her ass, lol.
.
cookie - I think minus the split, the dress wouldn’t be as tacky? I can totally see your point, though. LOL, yeah, that was a bit harsh, I don’t think it’s very tart-ish. Well, we’ve seen worse!
.
super kawaii mama - Get OUTTA here! Have you posted pictures of the designs on your site?? I really think they’d be a hit, and I don’t even know what they look like, but by going on your other pieces… CHA-CHING! Hehe.

Gets a big tick in my book too! You can change as much or as little of the dress as you like!
HAVE to love versatile pieces
