Typical 1950’s Outfits
I’ve been rummaging through old family photos and have been in awe of the fashionistas I’ve come across. I’ve always been in love with the 1950’s - the hair, the clothing, the cars, the movies, the music. And to see my own parents in some of these photos has made me proud - they look awesome!

This is my Mum, Margaret (on the left) and her cousin Shirley at Cronulla beach.
These photos had me wondering of what the typical 1950’s outfits were. So I decided to create a few sets which I think scream 1950’s. I felt like I could go on and on creating new sets but I had to stop somewhere! Here are my favourite four;
Would You Like Fries With That? - The roller skate waitress. Jane hates her manager and when he’s telling her off for bad behaviour, she rolls her eyes and blows huge pink bubble gum bubbles until it pops in his face. She dreads going to work every morning but loves to flirt with the boys as she serves them. (Click picture for product information).
The 1950’s Housewife - Her days begin at 5am - just before Lucy, Jim and Little Susan wake up for school. She’s over-worked but never under-appreciated. Her family loves her dearly and they never get bored of her big breakfast which includes bacon and eggs in the shape of a smiley face. (Click picture for product information).
The 1950’s Gentleman - Every morning Roger collects a newspaper from the corner store. He’s not really interested in the news as much as he is in Monique. Two years ago she began working at the store and he’s been buying the newspaper ever since. Seeing Monique every day makes him feel young again. (Click picture for product information).
The 1950’s High School Prom - Judy has a date for the prom! She’s absolutely ecstatic Kenneth asked her out because she’s had a crush on him for months. She spent hours deciding what to where and was delighted that Kenneth brought her a corsage which matched her dress. She’s secretly hoping the punch will be spiked with a touch of gin. I really enjoyed making these sets so I’m going to be publishing some more typical outfits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Stay tuned, poppets!
Big love,

Thee’s something very feminine about 50’s ladies and the men look good - it next came in, that look, with the chinos although the chinos were more extreme. 60s and 70s I thought were awful for clothes.
